Welcome to Resumaly. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") apply to your access to and use of the Resumaly website and its tools. By using Resumaly, you agree to these Terms. Please do not use the website if you do not agree with them.

1. Our Services

Resumaly currently provides three main tools:

1.1 Resume Builder

The core Resume Builder allows you to create, edit, and download a resume in your browser. Information entered into the core builder is stored locally in your browser on your device. The core builder does not send that resume information to Resumaly's servers or to OpenAI or Anthropic for AI processing.

You do not need to create an account or pay an export fee to download a resume using the core builder. Because the information is kept in browser storage, it may be lost if you clear browser data, use private browsing, change devices, or remove the relevant local storage. You are responsible for downloading and keeping your own backup.

1.2 AI Cover Letter Generator

The Cover Letter Generator uses artificial intelligence to help prepare cover letters from information you choose to submit. This may include resume details, work experience, skills, job descriptions, instructions, and other content relevant to your request.

1.3 AI ATS Resume Checker

The ATS Resume Checker uses artificial intelligence to analyze resume content and, where relevant, job descriptions or other information you provide. It returns automated feedback intended to help you review your resume.

2. AI Processing and Third-Party Providers

To provide the AI Cover Letter Generator and AI ATS Resume Checker, the relevant content you submit is transmitted for processing to AI services provided by OpenAI and/or Anthropic (the company behind Claude). The provider used depends on the feature or request.

The information sent to an AI provider may include resume text or an uploaded resume, job descriptions, skills, work experience, prompts, and other content needed to complete the requested task. This transfer is necessary for the AI features to generate a response. Do not submit information you are not comfortable having processed by the relevant provider.

Resumaly does not persistently store submitted resume content, uploaded document content, job descriptions, prompts, generated cover letters, or ATS analysis as user documents on Resumaly's servers. AI requests may pass through Resumaly's application infrastructure as needed to route the request to the selected provider, but Resumaly does not maintain a saved user-document record of that content or generated result.

OpenAI and Anthropic are independent third-party providers. Their handling, processing, and retention of information are governed by their own applicable terms and policies. Resumaly does not control their independent data practices. You can review their documentation here:

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Resumaly only for lawful purposes. You must not:

• Use the website to create or distribute fraudulent, deceptive, or unlawful material.
• Submit documents or personal information that you do not have permission to use.
• Attempt to disrupt, damage, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the website or its infrastructure.
• Upload malicious files, interfere with the service, or abuse its functionality.
• Use generated content to impersonate another person or misrepresent your qualifications, employment history, or identity.
• Use the tools in a way that violates another person's rights or applicable law.

4. Your Content and Responsibilities

You remain responsible for the information and materials you enter, upload, or generate using Resumaly. You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit that information for the requested processing.

You are responsible for:

• Checking that resume details, dates, qualifications, skills, and employment information are accurate.
• Reviewing and editing AI-generated cover letters and ATS feedback before relying on them.
• Ensuring your applications comply with the requirements of each employer.
• Keeping copies of resumes and other documents you create or download.
• Protecting sensitive personal information and deciding what information to submit to AI-powered tools.

5. AI Output, Accuracy, and Employment Outcomes

AI-generated content and analysis may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or unsuitable for your particular circumstances. ATS software and employer screening practices vary. An ATS score, recommendation, or analysis from Resumaly is an automated assessment and does not guarantee that a resume will pass an employer's screening process.

Resumaly does not guarantee interviews, job offers, hiring decisions, or any particular employment outcome. You should independently verify information before using it in an application.

6. No Professional Advice

Resumaly provides software tools and general informational assistance. The services do not constitute legal, recruitment, financial, or other professional advice and are not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional where such advice is needed.

7. Intellectual Property

The Resumaly website, software, branding, logos, design elements, and underlying templates are owned by or licensed to Resumaly and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Except as permitted by law or with prior written permission, you may not copy, redistribute, sell, or create derivative works from Resumaly's website or underlying materials.

You retain responsibility for and, to the extent you own them, the rights to the personal information and content you provide. These Terms do not transfer ownership of your underlying resume information to Resumaly.

8. Third-Party Services and Links

Some Resumaly features rely on third-party services, including AI providers. External websites and services are not controlled by Resumaly. Your use of those services may also be subject to their own terms, privacy notices, and policies. Resumaly is not responsible for the content or practices of independent third-party websites.

9. Availability and Changes to the Services

We aim to keep Resumaly available and functioning, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or continuous access. We may update, suspend, or discontinue features when reasonably necessary, including for maintenance, security, technical, or product reasons.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Resumaly is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranty that the tools will meet every requirement, that AI output will be error-free, or that use of the services will result in a particular outcome. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or warranties that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Resumaly will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, loss of opportunity, loss of data, or loss of employment prospects arising from or related to your use of the website or its tools. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

You are responsible for reviewing and verifying documents and AI-generated results before using them for employment applications.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms when our services, technologies, or legal requirements change. The revised version will be published on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of Resumaly after revised Terms are published constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
